Renovation of an Edgewood Community
Nestled in the heart of Edgewood, Maryland, Brookeside Station Apartments is a renovated residential development of 56 apartments. These were existing 1 & 2 bedroom units distributed across 7 two-story wood framed buildings and the addition of a few 3 bedroom units were added once the renovations were completed. Renovations included the replacement of all interior finishes, cabinets, fixtures, appliance, utility systems and exterior finishes. A newly designed community building was added to a central location to be easily accessible to all the residents. With this renovation new architectural elements were added to the buildings to enhance the character of the community, while also providing functional uses like new covered entries. In addition to updating the finishes, this project also incorporated energy efficient elements into the upgrades. 5% of the units were also upgraded to meet UFAS accessibility standards.
