Connecting Past and Present in Denton, Maryland

Just north of downtown Denton, Riverwoods at Denton was the rehabilitation of 48 existing apartment units along with the new construction of an additional 36 apartment units. All 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units are grouped into 17 two story buildings across the site to intrinsically connect to the existing town fabric. All of the buildings were connected by new pathways across the site and were ultimately tied together with a new centrally located community building and playground. Grand porches were added to the existing buildings and new smaller porches were also apart of the new buildings, which fit in with the character of the town. Architectural elements and a varied color scheme allowed the project to reflect the main architectural styles throughout the historic town.
