Hollins Station

← Back to the Portfolio

Hollins Station consists of 48 newly constructed townhouses in Lansdowne in Baltimore County, Maryland. There will be 23 three-bedroom two-story units and 25 three-bedroom three-story units. A community building was also constructed on site to provide amenities to the residents. The massing of the projected bays relate to the massing of bays of other single family homes in the area. The Community Building and its covered porch will be reminiscent of traditional residential architecture. The building placement and layout on the site takes advantage of existing conditions while maintaining a sense of community by centrally locating community spaces and using different housing products to work with the topography. The townhouses at Hollins Station fit comfortably in the neighborhood, providing additional housing in a primarily residential area. Since two plan types were employed for efficiency and maximum space savings, the exterior needed to have more variety. Color selections are varied on window shutters and entry doors, to give each house a unique personality. Using the different color schemes, gives the feel of variety even when providing the same interior floor plans.
